Is an Afterlife Possible?

Write a detailed one page answer to each of these questions. Be sure to engage with the arguments and issues we talked about in the lectures and in class:

Question 1: Is an afterlife possible? In your answer, be sure to clarify what theory of personal identity you embrace (i.e. what you think preserves numerical identity over time).  Also be sure to articulate how your theory relates to whether you think an afterlife is possible. Be sure to defend the theory you embrace from the objections that we discussed in class.

Question 2: How does the mind related to the brain? In other words, choose a theory of the mind and defend it. (Be sure to clearly define the theory and defend it against objections we considered in class.)

Question 3: Would an android (an artificial being that behaves just like a human) be minded? Clearly answer the question (“yes” or “no”) and then defend your answer. (Deal with the issues we talked about in class and also relate your answer back to your answer for question 2. How does your chosen theory of mind effect how your answer this question about androids?)
