Media violence: Does media violence cause violent behavior?

Violence is one of the current concerns in psychology which covers various reasoning. The current generation that we are in is being surrounded by a large volume of information/data, which makes it logical to think. Some of the behaviors are not what assimilate us, and this leads to an act in a way that is harmful to society and ourselves. Today, there are apparent studies that express for or against the relationship between violent content and what we consume daily in the reflection of our behavior. There is a tendency as well how one can adopt violent practices within society. Though experts have indeed shown concern towards the issue, there is no mathematical relationship that links most of these factors and cases presented. Under poor conditions in psychology FS Furey, Suzanne Capitalization needed. , violent content always increase any chance where an individual may perpetuate its heinous act (Feldman, 2005). In consideration, there is no doubt about the need for regulation as it can cause a reduction in most innocent lives. The essay will express on media violence and its cause in concern to violent behavior. Though media violence is a global issue and individuals are being attacked daily, then it becomes easy for media to influence behavior violence FS Furey, Suzanne This is a good start. Your essay should clearly give your opinion about whether violence in the media causes violent behavior. .

Since the early 1960s, various researcher evidence has evicted out that media has been accumulating various issues, which suggest that exposure to violence in movies, television, cell phones, and other internet services has been on the rise of violent behavior. Statistics have shown that teenagers have witnessed 16,000 stimulated simulated murders and over 20,000 various acts of violence, which are presented on movies, television, and the internet. Therefore, media affects the youth mostly as they impersonate on some of this violence, which lies in their age bracket. The youth have frequent access to media now than it has ever been before in the years of 1960 to 2000. The rise in media violence started early as Rodney King riots began in 1991, it was followed by expression of video of Los Angeles policeman who was beating an innocent Rodney King. The video expression created an uproar of change across the coast, and youth was the one profoundly affected. It caused residents to start a riot that was filed and spread across movies and national televisions. The Rodney King riots started with one video, which contains the public act of violence, and then it spread like wildfire to the young generation. Violence has been accompanied by various crime rates, which have fallen drastically over the last century. Over 40% of crimes reported worldwide are related to violent behaviors (Sastry, Anjuli, and Karen Grigsby, 2017 FS Furey, Suzanne This is a good start. This paragraph should explain the points of view on both sides of this issue.

Some believe violence in the media violence causes violent behavior and some believe media violence does not cause violent behavior.

Explain what both believe and include research to support both sides. Use APA format. ).

Violence is inevitable in our society as everyone is exposed to it especially the young generation. Therefore, violence is portrayed everywhere, mostly in books, video games, social media, phones, and much more. Most children who are raised where there is background of violence always believe that it is okay with them FS Furey, Suzanne What point of view does this support? . Movies express various killing of people, which causes the youth who are frequent over the internet to develop desensitization to violence FS Furey, Suzanne Which point of view does this statement support? . According to pediatrics aappublications.org FS Furey, Suzanne Which side does this research support? Explain.

APA format is needed. , it states that the highest proportion of any issues with violence was found in the younger generation who frequently watch television shows. One must monitor our youth with what they are currently watching as this could mitigate some of the negative influence on things that exist in our homes and the general environment.

Research has shown that anyone who is witnessing violence daily can affect one's brain thus causing desensitization and aggression. According to the study FS Furey, Suzanne Which study? An in-text citation is needed. Which point of view does this support? , which was conducted at Indiana University, the younger generation who frequently watch violent movies on television display various indications of less mature brain development. This is accompanied by poor executive functioning. Use of MRI scan and other comparison has shown that media creates the most significant percentage on most of the violent behaviors. Violence on television affects the frontal and parietal lobes, and therefore the brain may lack the actual development. The use of physical evidence in media violence has negatively affected various individuals, and this leads to violent behaviors in our current younger generation.

With FS Furey, Suzanne This paragraph should contain your second claim or statement to support your opinion and research to support that opinion. the current growth in technology and the digital era, there are many sources of media violence, and therefore it becomes challenging for individuals from being protected. People have direct access to media violence through media and digital view as the internet covers the highest percentage on youth users. Anyone can go online at any time and learn how to make a bomb based on the criteria of step given, and this becomes addictive for the young generation who are highly conversant with the internet. Having some access to violence might be a negative potential as it encourages violence in most individuals to think. Violence occurs in music, video, movies, and television, among others, which most people have direct access to them. Therefore, if the world media is surrounded by violence, then how does one being able to keep their children from it, the only useful way to control the amount of violence in young generation is based on one can reduce their exposure to media facts related with violence. Though it is ambiguous issues, there is a need for full interaction (Huesmann, L Rowell, 2007).

In FS Furey, Suzanne This paragraph should contain your third claim to support our opinion and research to support that claim. the current century, media violence has been considered an all-time high, and there is nothing anyone can do to minimize the amount of violence based on media FS Furey, Suzanne Do you have research to support this statement? . The only way is to limit the amount of exposure primarily to the teenagers, which is done by settling parental control and restrict the amount of time which is spent on video games, phones, televisions, and access to the general view of media. Though various issues have been expressed and have shown evidence of media violence, the brain might be affected by the behavior of what is expressed in media FS Furey, Suzanne Research? . Media has been considered with various impacts where adults can limit their exposure to media violence as they are highly conversant with current technology as compared to teenagers. Instead of playing a shooting game or making a verdict on watching a fight on social media, they prefer to go for a walk or indulge in activities that add value to one's life. There are currently many ways in which media violence can be minimized and pose for a drastic change in most of the activities which are expressed daily. It is good to reduce most of the access to social media, especially on a platform that lies in violence. Media violence will only be minimized if the exposure to some of the activities related to violence is reduced, and instead, the creation of active brain activities is involved FS Furey, Suzanne The last paragraph is the conclusion where you will restate your opinion and the three claims made without including any new information or research. .
