Are patients’ health outcomes bound by their medical and non-medical goals?

This study aims to determine patients’ goal and how they are important to their health outcomes during and after hospitalization.

According to WHO (2007), common mental disorders are about twice as frequent among poor as among the rich with depression being 1.5 to 2 times more prevalent among low income groups of a population. What is the implication of poverty on one’s mental health?

This study aim was to determine how economic status of someone can affect their mental health. Qualitative research method has been used.

Is there any connection between a nurse behavior and how they relate with the patient and their families?

Is there any difference in the care provided by high talented nurses and low talented nurses?

The main aim for this study was to provide an insight in regard to how very qualified and non-qualified nurses care vary.

Qualitative analysis was used as the data for analysis was based on sentiments.

Quantitative analysis was used to derive figures calculate the results based on the percentage.

Qualitative research method as this research was based on assessment and observation.

Setting/Sample

This study took place at United states. Patient consisted of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial, Medicaid HMO and uninsured patients discharged from three Monroe County, NY hospitals with an NYU Preventable Admission Algorithm diagnosis.

This research was carried out in Pakistan. Different groups of people from different Pakistan districts were involved.

This research was carried on 3 organization using IPC technology. Patients and families from 136 healthcare organizations in the United States utilized an inpatient interactive patient care (IPC) technology platform to generate more than 52 000 narrative nominations for The DAISY Award, which honors nurses internationally for compassionate.

This study was carried out in Kuwait. Nurses in six Kuwait region hospitals were questioned based age, gender, education level, and years of experience.

Methods: Intervention/Instruments

Nurses and social workers were interviewed. Record of patient age, gender, ethnicity and goals were recorded.

People were interviewed across Pakistan Districts

Nurses comments were collected from a convenience sample of 3 organizations using IPC technology.

To measure talents, Nurse Competence Scale, Career Commitment Scale, The Nurse Contribution Scale-VAS and Nurses’ Assessment of Quality Scale-Acute Care Version were used

Key Findings

54.95% of home elicited goals were medical and 45.05% non-medical.

There is significant difference in prevailing anxiety and depression between the people of high and low Socioeconomic Districts.

Courtesy and respect were the highest-ranking core theme and accounted for 64% of the total behaviors reported.

There was a significant difference in the mean scores between the highly-talented and the low-talented nurses’ in terms of the quality of care they provided for their patients, t (70) =-3.76, p=< 0.001.

Recommendations

Patients’ goals are important when making medical decisions. Patients should be allowed have both medical and non-medical goals to improve their health outcomes.

Professionals should prepare to fight global poverty as a way to reduce mental illness

Nurses behaviors can affect how they relate with their patients. This study can help solve bad relationship between patients and nurses and promote how health issues. Patients will feel safe when in hospitals

There is need to evaluate nurses based on their talents and how good they can offer care services.

Explanation of How the Article Supports EBP/Capstone Project

In order to make patient decision on their goals, one has to rely on the evidence that this will improve their health.

In order to make the decisions, the researcher interviewed the citizens and drew conclusions from their views.

The decision is based on the comments collected from nurse sentiments hence supporting EBP.

Making conclusions come after evaluation of nurses’ talents and how they can help in health care

Stroke has been a major cause of mortality lately. According to CDC (n.d.), Stroke kills about 140,000 Americans each year that’s 1 out of every 20 deaths. Can we come up with an intervention strategy to help reduce this rate?

Recommendations

The findings suggest that more strategies need to be put in place to help the chronically ill.

Governments should focus on improving roads in rural areas to increase accessibility

Quantitative analysis should be used to give a measurable figure how these barriers and facilitators can limit donations

According to Phan Q, Bentley GW, Joshua VT, Williams VB (2018), a brief intervention has the potential to positively impact stroke recognition and behavior intent to call EMS in the Vietnamese American population. Health care sectors should stress the importance of educating the community on the diseases.

Explanation of How the Article Supports EBP/Capstone

This research supports EBP as the conclusions are made regarding to data that was collected from the field.

This study supports EBP as interviews are conducted on officers who face these challenges.

In order to make conclusion other articles are reviewed. This study supports EBP.

The evidence to educate people as a way to reduce the mortality rate caused by stroke was from data gathered. This paper supports EBP.
