IDS201 Homework Rubrics for all programming assignment submissions
1. Do not use package when you create a program with Eclipse IDE
2. Source code starts with comments like:
// Your name (Last name, First name order)
// Describe program briefly
3. Keep good documentation (white space, indentation, many comments).
4. Use meaningful identifiers.
5. Program must run. Test program thoroughly before submission.
a. If program does not run or different result with different scenario, penalty
applies.
6. Self-evaluation comments at the beginning of the source code after the two lines (name
& description): list what part of the task cannot be done (one item per line).
7. Use design tool: pseudo code document in MS Word or PDF file format only.
8. A PPT file includes source code (or copy source code from Eclipse editor), all screenshots
of program run with various tests or with different data set (if applicable).
9. Include .class files (compiled Java Bytecode) can be run in command prompt (or
Terminal). E.g. java classname → program run
10. Submit: (Do not compress files, you can submit multiple files in one submission)
a. Source code (name.java)
b. Java Bytecode (name.class)
c. Design document (MS word or PDF format only)
d. PPT file
11. Keep the submission deadline. 10% late penalty per every 1 hour.
12. If you submit at the last minute, the BB may mark LATE due to processing delay. To
avoid late mark, submit at least a few hours earlier than the deadline.
13. If technical problem happens with your local issue (i.e. ISP issue or computer issue), you
have to find an alternative way to submit your work with enough time.
14. If you have a blackboard system issue, capture screenshot with date and time to get
waive the late penalty. to avoid this issue, submit earlier with enough time and retry
if the BB has a system issue.
15. NO Email submission is accepted in any situation. Only blackboard submission is
accepted.
