Career Research Project Due - Tuesday, December 1, 2020

No Late Projects Accepted!!

Each student is required to complete his or her own Career Research Project, and submit it on the date that it is due. This project is a comprehensive assignment that will count as 20% of your final grade for this course. The Career Research Project will consist of a Power-point Presentation along with a research paper containing viable sources, in which you obtained your information. Each student will select a work field of choice and have it approved by the instructor before attempting to complete the project. Students who do not get instructors approval will not be allowed to research that field or career. Below you will find the format and guidelines that will be used to complete this project. The Research Project will consist of two parts…………

Part One: Power-point Presentation

*include a cover slide

*include an Abstract - summary of what project is about *include Reference Slide (minimum of 6 references must be used) (2) reference / resource must come from a book (2) on-line references / resources (2) references from magazines / newspapers *must be no less than 10 slides

*must print power-point presentation out in handout format (two slides per page) *complete interviews with 2 people in career field of choice (non-family members)

*write summaries of each interviewee along with contact information *must be typed and use 12 font size print (Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman)

Part Two: Research Paper

*include a Cover Page

*include an Abstract - summary of what project is about *complete a thorough research paper over field/career choice (minimal of 6 typed pages) *must be typed and use 12 font size print (Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman) *include Reference Page (minimum of 5 references must be used)

(1) reference / resource must come from a book (2) on-line references / resources (2) references from magazines / newspapers *must do oral class presentation on Due Date - December 1, 2020 *must use APA format Questions to ask yourself as you complete the project…… Why did you choose this particular career? What personality characteristics are likely required for this career? What education or training is required for this career? What is your plan for achieving this career? What skills do you need for this career? What is the outlook for career? (salary, education, positions, and future possibilities) Why do you feel this career is for you?
