Create your own Vision, Mission, and Core Values Statement

• A part of the Career Portfolio (Project 3). ▫ This will be the second component of your portfolio, following your

resume

• Submit Vision, Mission, and Core Values Statement for Participation homework by October 5th in Canvas by 6 p.m.

• Peer Review two other submissions by October 12th

Your Vision, Mission, & Core Values Statement

Start with your Vision. ▫ This is what you aspire for in the future – what you hope for. ▫ Aspirational in nature compared to mission statements which are based in our current work/efforts

Next, your Mission Statement. ▫ Short, easy to memorize statement about what you do/work in that relates to your vision. This is

not meant to be a long, long paragraph but a concise statement (3-4 sentences long, maximum)

Core Values at last ▫ Support your mission and vision ▫ Reflect your personal and professional beliefs and philosophy ▫ A minimum of three and a maximum of five

Submission Details 1. Your submission should be 1-2 pages long, double spaced, TR12 font, 1” margins

2. Each component (vision, mission, and core values) should be identified using Level I headings.

3. Your core values should be in bullet format (underneath the proper Level I heading) with a brief description of why that is a core value.

4. Failure to follow these formatting guidelines and/or standard APA elements as described in the syllabus will result in a reduced score for the participation assignment.

5. Not correcting changes to the Participation assignment will results in a reduced score in the final Portfolio.

6. Writing errors will be identified up to the first three errors. It is your responsibility to examine your draft work and revise for the final Portfolio submission.
