Purpose

Our whole existence stems from purpose, which is the reason why we do certain things and why we do not do certain. For me, my purpose in life and here on Earth is to fulfill God’s will. In any case, this is within the inward perspective on our mission here on Earth according to the scriptures and my personal faith. Though a few individuals may doubt it, we can agree that the true meaning of life is best found in activities that benefit other people, and humanity at large. As such, the most important purpose for me to achieve in this life is service to others. My service to others afflicts in me a sense of direction and a general feel of the sense of satisfaction Many people are troubled and lack the much-needed boost in their morale to be happy and attain peace. Far from the daily struggles, not all have access to their basic human needs. Most individuals are unfortunate to have good readily available food and proper clothing. Furthermore, most of them still lack a place to call home. I aim to change the narrative to be a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration. Comment by Bruni, Peter: others. I believe humanity was blessed with a free will upon creation. As such, I am motivated by the good deeds people from all walks of life participate in uplifting each other. Every personal success stems from team effort directly or indirectly. Likewise, every personal failure may also stem out from an individual’s own doing and a team’s influence. When we are faced with challenges, our human instincts have always pushed us to be sympathetic and empathize with those suffering. It has been said before that no good deed goes unrecognized. My moral compass directs me to choose what is good and what is not right. Though not all deeds against humans are good, humanity's resilience to triumph over evil motivates me to work in the service of others. There is a great satisfaction for me, knowing that I stopped a person from committing suicide or doing something terrible. I derive so much pleasure in seeing people come together to work towards a common goal. Working together instills a sense of belonging in individuals. Also, working together provides an avenue for understanding and respecting each other practices, belief and culture which creates love and respect. In so doing, we as human beings fulfill God’s work. In fulfilling God’s work, we as human beings exude and get guidance on ethical conduct. My mora and ethical direction not only stems from God that is through religion but also from other cultures like customs, local laws, and regulations. I believe my moral compass and direction are of post-conventional humanistic profound quality dependent on human rights and all-inclusive human morals. It is because, as we evolve, we also undergo cultural evolution, which changes our perspectives on life. A critical moral guideline I hold dear is the expression that the conditions that determine the accessibility of essential human services should ensure reasonable and equivalent access and be delicate to the unique needs and living conditions of all people. Therefore, the construct of universal moral ethics has a profound effect on my purpose on Earth since it dictates how I interact and socialize with people. It is because there are widespread phases of good judgment that anybody in any culture may experience. Yet, at the same time, we must take into consideration a broad scope of social variables such as community-centered values, which are dependent on their cultural rules, customs, and laws. For me, it is these post-traditional stages that reflect an all-inclusive ethical quality and a moral guide. However, not many individuals can see their way past their social values to understand and follow up on them. I am inclined to live the life of luminaries like Mother Teresa and the great Mahatma Gandhi. Comment by Bruni, Peter: moral Comment by Bruni, Peter: delete Comment by Bruni, Peter: of a post-... Comment by Bruni, Peter: This could be clearer if rewritten with specifics. As is, it is not clear. Comment by Bruni, Peter: experience what? not clear here.

In making sure that I fulfill my purpose in life, I have been involved in a few noble activities. I am continually doing charity work and helping people in difficulty especially through voluntary work. During the summertime, I volunteered to help out in a home for the elderly. It is interesting to note the immense joy these senior citizens had just by having someone to converse and help them around. As we all age with time, I felt like spending time with these people will provide me with more life insights and perspectives. Indeed, the stay was informative as I did not only learn new skills but also got to do a lot of reflecting. Through my interaction with the elderly, I listened to various views and ideas they had about life. I listened to their achievements, regrets, their counsel on what they think needed to be done differently and how they intend to change going forward. Currently, I am helping out at a shelter for the homeless. At the shelter for the homeless we serve individuals of all ages form the young children to the elderly people. The primary purpose of the shelter to these individuals is to share meals, donate warm clothing, and organize therapy sessions for veterans to help them cope with post-traumatic stress disorder. I can confidently say that my level of ingenuity has increased. By assisting children in shelter homes with their homework, I have become a mentor to many, and I feel fulfilled when they pass their exams. Taking care of the neglected elderly and the homeless also feels me with joy and contentment through the impact I make in their lives. The kind of voluntary work I have conducted so far gives me hope to continue with voluntary works and selfless acts as they help me achieve my purpose on Earth. I am a great person at my core. However, the inclinations and presumptions of our societies and social orders have had an immoral effect on me. I am restricted from accomplishing my fundamental purpose on Earth by socially built standards, roles, laws, and organizations that are harsh to particular gatherings and personalities amongst us. I think we can make an all the more just, free, and equivalent society by changing the perception of how these things are built, in this manner, liberating myself from inclination, bias, and any form of prejudice. Indeed, people as obliged and restricted in their ethical limits and capacities. Some are generally inclined to brutality, profiling, and childishness. If we wiped out chains of importance and hierarchies, we would re-make them in new structures due to our lust for power and want for self-conservation. The main thing that shields the world from self-destructing into a cruel society is the order of rules, conventions, virtues, and social foundations. We ought to be cautious in our endeavors to disturb these valuable (and for some, divine) moral establishments that hold our delicate society together. Instead it should be our foremost responsibility to legitimize and strengthen the rules with an aim of providing just treatment for all. Comment by Bruni, Peter: fragment Comment by Bruni, Peter: into new... Comment by Bruni, Peter: I’m not sure many in our society have an idea of what justice means. Some think it’s equal treatment, but they don’t say what equal means.

As a person, I feel there is more we can do to make this world a better place for all. I believe in the synchronization of thoughts to ensure that we all reach our full potential. I intend to fulfill my purpose here on Earth through the establishment of a charity organization. It will cater to the needs of the underprivileged while also lobbying for equity and equality. Growing up, I have witnessed a lot of disparities and inequality. It is these prejudices that make me want to changes the narrative and help create an environment where there is no discrimination, racial bias, or prejudice. With the establishment of a charity organization, I will be able to attract global help from like-minded people, generate funds to purchase items like clothing, food, and medical supplies for people on the streets. At the moment, I have started the procedure to set up or start the charity organization due to school and academic commitments. But it is something that is on top of my to-do list. Since I only get limited time to volunteer amid school time, starting the charity organization would eat into my academic time. As such, I am planning to solicit the help of my friends so that we can set it in motion. In so doing, I will be doing God's work through community service. It will give me a lot of satisfaction knowing that I helped change a person's life for the better. Comment by Bruni, Peter: what is this?
