The Deliverable Accomplished

To this point, I have made tremendous progress where I have already finalized on my topic proposal, which has also been approved. I am also through with my annotated bibliography for the several sources that I have drawn some of the ideas and references to several issues discussed from. I have also completed a literature review on my topic whose title is Common Behavior Issues and Solutions in the Early Childhood Setting. This is a very relevant topic in today’s society where children are experiencing a mixture of experience during their childhood and affects their relationships even when they become grownups. The evaluation of the literature review has also been completed and has been approved.

Discoveries in The Process of Interacting with The Deliverables

The society today has significantly changed over the past few decades where young children and teenagers are affected. Some of the contributing factors are the increase in technology as well as the generational shift. Most of today’s youths fall under generation X who are born from the year 2000 (Browning, 2017). The behavior has drastically changed where most children and teenagers are misbehaving both in school and at home. Through my interactions with various deliverables, I have come to realize that the solution to this is for everyone in the community, and no one can blame the other for neglect or any other reason. It should be the responsibility of the teacher, the parents of the children, and those surrounding them as well as that of the children themselves. I have also noted that children do not just develop this negative behavior from nowhere, but they pick them from the society that they grow from. Children are born as a blank page after which as they grow, they pick various behaviors and activities they see from their peers, parents, or the teachers at school. The solution starts with everyone changing their behavior and becoming a role model in the society in whichever capacity they are in because there is always a young person or a child watching them and copying their behavior.

Description of my Activities

There are several activities that I have carried out so far where there are several of them that I can consider as the most important of all. The first activity was to do thorough research about my topic using the articles, journals and books to see and understand what other authors and writer’s idea on the common behavior issues and the various solutions that they have given regarding the early childhood setting. It is through this activity that I identified multiple gaps and issues that I need to address as well as the different questions that I can incorporate in my questionnaires and interviews which I had to conduct to gather the necessary information required in making arguments. This was aimed at coming up with a clear conclusion and recommendations on what needs to be done to correct the problem.

Another activity that took place was conducting various interviews and issuing and collection of questionnaires. I conducted interviews with three groups of people who I believe play a vital role in shaping the life and the behavior of any child or a teenager in society. The first group was the parents at homes where I talked to old, middle, and young parents to hear their view on parenting from different generational perspectives. Another interview was with the teachers in school who according to them, spend a lot of time with the children and have the knowledge to identify various behavior changes very quickly even more than their parents. Lastly, I had to hear from the children themselves and know their story.

Lessons Learned About the Topic

There are several valuable lessons that I can confidently say that I learned from the activities and the findings of the topic. The very first one is that the problem of change in behavior is known by everyone in society. Almost every person whom I conducted an interview or gave a questionnaire admitted that the challenge of behavior negative change is there in the society, and this is then a problem that I realized needs to be addressed. The teachers also complained that they sometimes are held helpless when it comes to disciplining the children where some parents overprotect their children, and therefore, they can do anything with no one asking them. The children rights are also so overprotective to the children, and therefore, the teachers fear being sued. The children even at the tender age in the school end up misbehaving, and this is carried until they become teenagers and later mature, still having the negative behavior.

Addressing the Problem

There is a number of solutions to this problem, but the one that I regard as the most important is the collaboration of all the stakeholders who are the government, the parents, the teachers, and the students themselves (Browning, 2017). Behavior collection for the children and teenagers is not a one group’s responsibility, but it is the responsibility of everyone in society. The government should come with laws that are aimed at instilling discipline in children. The parents and the teachers also should collaboratively to mentor and mold children and ensure they are the best role models to the children. The children also have to play their part in ensuring they consciously behave rightly at all times.

Whether or Not I Am on Target

I think I will miss on the target that I had previously submitted in week three. This is because some of the activities like interviews and doing research online and in books took more time than I had anticipated. This is the main challenge that I think will me not deliver on time. Even though there are other minor issues on the way, I have been dealing with them. Despite this, I have to adjust the previous plan to incorporate the issues that have risen so far but so far, so good.
