was founded in 1924 and is the agency primarily charged with policy enforcement in the border
region. The first Border Patrol station on the U.S.-Mexico border was located in El Paso,
TX. Along the border, there are nine border sectors geographically situated in California,
Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
