Social networking plays a significant role in the modern world. It has facilitated the way we communicate, promoted a unique way of getting in touch with people, peer, and colleagues. Also, it has paved the way for the digital information that is relied upon in the modern world. On the contrary, some people argue that social networking has an impact on the people's lives (Obee, 2012). The fact is that social networking has disadvantages and advantages. The social networking issues cause controversy even though its benefits outweighs its drawbacks.
My Stand on Social Networking
With the growing technology inventions, several attempts have erupted concerning the embracement of human social life. Such involvement of the technological inventions in the social life of human nature has played both positive and negative roles as far as the societal-cultural beliefs are concerned. Technology saves time and resources. Therefore, engaging the technology in human social life has boosted the levels of business communication (Kelsey, 2010). This is based on the fact that the social networks have invited many users. Therefore, business individuals find it easy to reach the overgrowing users of the social network across the global regions by the use of the internet.
Even though the social network has positively assisted in articulating business matters among the global social network users, it has negatively impacted the cultural understanding of different communities of the world. This is based on the fact that the users of the social network sites interchange their cultural understandings, making youths adopt dubious cultural approaches. Moreover, the social network has also been regarded as a threat to human life. This is primarily through negative approaches in the utilization of the social network sites by users (Kelsey, 2010). Users with negative motives have used the social networks in establishing bullying and terror activities.
Three Premises
My first premise states that the social media assists in the spread of false representations and manipulation of information. The second opposing premise suggests that the social media exposes user instructions by both governments, and corporate because of lack of privacy. The final opposing premise is the third reasoning, which asserts that there exists poor performance among the social media addicted students. However, my ideological stands on the negative effect of the social network among the members of the society, the most interesting or perhaps, helpful information about the views articulated within the topic’s cons is that the social network lacks privacy (Obee, 2012). The social networks are always business oriented. In this essence, the integrity of the client should be given the priority by the social website owners.
In this case, I support the view that the social media exposes user instructions by both governments, and corporate because of lack of privacy. Indeed there is a lot that needs to be done in ensuring that the people’s information is stored on the internet is highly secured. Ideologically, most social websites have established user policies that handle security matters of the users (Kelsey, 2010). Therefore, as the involvement of the security algorithms is concerned, the security campaigns through proper user acknowledgment needs to be done. Otherwise, I think that the idea of lack of privacy in the social network might only be real in the context of the activities of the users. Users are always given the opportunity to utilize the security algorithms provided to secure their information. Unless the user is a criminal or has performed a suspicious activity, no one is able to access the user’s stored information except for certain authorized security department is allowed to access the information under strict rules.
