Discuss the relevance of tools and techniques for investigating and describing project process related to developing new workings, facilities, equipment, plant and processes for justifying, designing, developing, or maintaining existing facilities and equipment within the context of their technological and asset lifecycle status.

I had learned from the previous tutorials that the tools and techniques for the project process are very critical in the field of the project management. The different kinds of tools and techniques in the project management are helpful in making the process of managing or controlling the projects more easier and more efficient. The different aspects of the project management including the project managers and the project management software are involved in carrying the toolbox which comprises of the useful equipment required for the project development by minimizing the cost and saving the time which is highly valuable in any type of the project. The online project management software is involved in producing the different tools and techniques which are useful in the smooth run of their project. Some of the tools and techniques in the project management are the CPM, PERT, Gantt-chart and the task dependencies. The significance of these project management tools is described as below.

PERT is referred as the project management technique which controls in time periods in the project development. The full form of PERT is Project evaluation review technique and is considered as the most effective planning tool of the project management as it is helpful in computing the accurate time frame for the successful completion of the project.

The CPM stands for the critical path method and is considered as the project management tool which enables the project teams to effectively understand the significance of each project height as per its position in the project. The critical path of the project can be computed using the planning constraints of the project.

Gantt-chart is one of the project management technique which is involved in improving and augmenting the effectiveness of the project processes. The Gantt chart in the simplest tool in the project management with very less number of complications and so, it has become the most popular tool of the project management.

In general, all the project management are dependent on the optimization of the projects. The task dependencies are the tools and techniques of the project management which can highly influence the project processes. Task dependencies are also called as activity dependencies and plays a significant role in the success or failure of the project.

Present and interpret major processes that are based on sound policy, information, and research that enable project justification, tenders, contracts, and selection criteria to occur in an asset rich organisation.

It is very essential for all the business organization to ensure the availability of adequate number of resources for the successful completion of the projects. Providing the adequate resources enhances the organization to choose its desired project. Justification and the approval of the projects are the two critical components for affectively performing the different business functions of the organization. Some of the organizations are involved in performing detailed progressions in order to authorize different project activities while some other organizations are involved in performing the annual budget of the projects. However, these performances will not approve the budget for the projects.

Some of the considerations of the business organizations for effectively performing or justifying the project activities are budget of the project, objectives of the project, ROI (return of investment) of the project, time-line of the project and urgency of the project.

Budget- The budget defines the size and scope of the project. The significance of different project activities also depends up on the budget of the project.

Objectives – The process of clearly defining the objectives of the project helps the organization to successfully deliver the outputs of the project.

ROI– The ROI of the project will provide certain benefits to the business of the organization in terns of financial assets such as NPV (net present value).

Timeline– The timeline of the project helps in the completion of the project activities as per the schedule of the project. However, the timeline of the project will be changed whenever the project experiences any type of constraint.

Urgency – The organization considers the urgency of the project to determine the flexibility of the project in meeting the priorities of the organization.

The project management approach different methods in the selection criteria which are mainly categorized into two groups, benefit measurements group and constrained optimization group.

Critically analyse management strategies and operational activities from a broad perspective to ensure safety and quality, to avoid overruns or rework, to manage variations and claims, and to make decisions to discontinue or close projects.

Quality and Safety management are the most acritical components in any project. Several management strategies and the operational activities regarding the quality and safety will be helpful in different aspects of the project management like cost control, time control and are helpful in the successful completion of the projects. Most of the organizations give more priority for improving the quality of their projects when relatively compared with the activity of providing safety measures to the project. Only few organizations realize the fact that both the quality and safety are interrelated to one another in the process of developing the projects in the project management. Although the quality and safety management strategies are important, they do not suggest the project manager to effectively apply

different tools and techniques of the project management.

Different management strategies for the quality are very much helpful in defining the quality techniques in the project development and are also responsible in ensuring the quality standards in various stages of the project during project execution. The quality management strategy which is developed in the initial stages of the project has to be approved by the project board.The major worry for the project managers along with the quality in the safety or health concerns of the project. The safety management strategies are helpful in training the team members of the project to accomplish their job tasks safely and securely.
