We know that health disparities are those notable, systematic differences in health status or outcomes that exist between certain sub-populations of individuals. Health disparities are present by gender, race/ethnicity, language, ability/disability status, income level, educational attainment, among many others.

on the CDC's website. Select at least one Objective for your data analysis and one group or sub-population by which you would like to compare the data. For example, you could choose "Adults self-reporting good or better physical health" as your objective and male/female as your group. This would generate the following chart:
Based on the data/charts that emerge from your exploration of the Healthy People 2020 objectives, discuss the following:
· Is there evidence of a health disparity here? Why or why not?
· What social advantages or disadvantages (determinants of health) might be contributing to this disparity?
· What public health interventions might you suggest to address either the determinants or the results of this disparity?
*Note: your discussion will be much richer if you spend some time looking to identify health disparities. It will be difficult for you to achieve full credit and answer all the questions if you just choose the first objective/group that comes up. Spend time with the data and really dig in to understand how to identify health disparities.
