Besi, M., & Sakellariou, M. (2019). Teachers' Views on the Participation of Parents in the Transition of their Children from Kindergarten to Primary School. Behavioral Sciences9(12), 124. DOI:10.3390/bs9120124

The research surveyed 1602 teachers about their opinion on the role parents can play in facilitating student transition from kindergarten to the next level. The main method of data collection was questionnaires submitted to teachers in kindergarten and elementary levels of education. The research findings indicate that parents have a crucial role in the students' transition from kindergarten to the next level.

The parent-teacher partnership is critical in molding behaviors such as commitment and expectations, which are necessary to drive the child from kindergarten to the next level. Parents may also express the student needs and desires so that teachers can shape these needs to facilitate the transition to the next level. This study will contribute to my research by helping enforce the need for parent-teacher partnership at kindergarten levels. The findings will also help the research suggest for kindergarten schools some of the strategies they can use to boost student performance and prepare them for the next level.

Durand, T. M. (2011). Latino parental involvement in kindergarten: Findings from the early childhood longitudinal study. Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, 33(4), 469-489. DOI:10.1177/0739986311423077

This study is a longitudinal study on Latino patents and teachers' role in boosting student literacy skills at the kindergarten level. The research design was critical for answering questions about the role of minority parents in promoting their children education. The findings indicated that Latino parents could significantly boost student literacy skills through various ways. Parents can engage in dialogue with teachers to communicate their concerns and student needs, transforming the curriculum to help boost student needs.

Through collective actions, Latino parents can boost the power of minority parents in advocating for better education for their children. The findings of this study will help my research emphasize the need to involve all parents, including minority parents, in planning for children's education. It will also help me address some of the challenges that may affect the performance of minority races at school.

Crosby, S. A., Rasinski, T., Padak, N., & Yildirim, K. (2015). A 3-year study of a school-based parental involvement program in early literacy. The Journal of Educational Research108(2), 165-172. DOI: 10.1080/00220671.2013.867472

The study was an assessment of parent involvement programs implemented in various schools. The main aim was to answer the questions: to what extent can schools maintain parent involvement programs, and to what extent are the programs effective in improving literacy skills in kindergarten and grade 1 students. The main finding was that the parent involvement program can have substantial involvement and improvement of students' literacy skills. When parents and teachers teach students different lessons such as poem analysis, the chances of students improving will increase.

The program also improved other skills such as reading and analysis. The research indicated that such programs had an impact and should be improved. This research will help me communicate and recommend certain strategies teachers can use to involve parents in the students' learning. It will also help me recommend procedures for measuring the success of such programs in a school or community.

Setiawan, J. A., Suparno, C. S., & Tasrif, S. R. (2020). The Role of Parents on the Character Education of Kindergarten Children Aged 5-6 Years in Bima. Universal Journal of Educational Research8(3), 779-784. DOI: 10.13189/ujer.2020.080307

This research was ex-post facto research. The main mode of data collection was questionnaires submitted to 157 parents. The study also used observation as a data collection tool. These data collection methods were essential for answering the research question: How can parents help shape character amongst kindergarten students. The findings revealed that parents could shape character through love and affection, attention and ensuring a child's safety. These factors were also critical for shaping the students' performance by ensuring they have the necessary character, such as discipline, which is critical for learning.

Parents also provided the students with a sense of security and belonging hence helping them work harder. This research will help me focus on additional factors contributing to student performance at the kindergarten level. The findings will also help me recommend to parents how they can effectively promote student performance in school.
