Task 1a

Assignment Details:

You will be providing a report on different types of businesses and comparing their functions.

p5-Analysis and comparison between the three Companies

Analyse and Compare

A comparison response still follows the basic essay structure:

· an introduction

· four or five main points supported by details

· a conclusion - this must link back to the question, and mention both texts

When you compare texts, it’s important to talk about both texts all the way through. Don’t write all about one text, then all about the other.

In each paragraph, make sure you mention both, even if a point is mostly about one of them.

Task 1b

1-Header – “Small Businesses Contribution to the UK Economy”

2-Introduction – what are SMEs, what sector they are in, how many etc

3-Assess numbers - identify business numbers and discuss and compare with large businesses. Where are businesses located around the UK? Assess using figures and argue their importance and how they contribute (websites provided)

4-SMEs as sole traders – provide facts and figures

5-Conclusion – sum up your findings and conclusions.
