It is the second largest healthcare company by revenue with $400.1 billion, and the largest insurance company by net premiums. UnitedHealth Group provides health care benefits globally through UnitedHealthcare. UnitedHealthcare serves individuals and employers, and Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. UnitedHealth Group offers health services through Optum. Optum serves the global health care marketplace, including payers, care providers, health systems, employers, governments, life sciences companies and consumers.

{name} is currently working from Veridic Solutions llc as a Sr. Big Data Engineer. {name} work for Healthcare client OPTUM subsidiary of UHG (UnitedHealth Group), at 13625 Technology Dr., Eden Prairie, MN 55344, United States. Being an onsite engineer, he is primarily involved in the design, development, and delivery of critical IT operations and large-scale deployments in our HealthCare firm which is providing critical care for a lot of covid patients and a lot of other HealthCare clients. Karthik provide enterprise clinical solutions and operational support for all for their member profile, benefits, Claims, Financial Data, Engagements and Communications

Activities etc. He also acts as an escalation point of contact for the client from a clinical operation. He implemented reliable and secure data pipelines for various business critical applications such

as CCAT, Provider Education. He built data pipelines which process both Medicare and Medicaid claims and continued to build solutions. As part of his work, he deals with PHI (Protected Health

Information) and PI (Personal Information) which is critical and cannot work remotely or out of country. He also works with lot of PHI and PI tables which contain Patient personal information and Claims information. He even works for building processors that generate letters, which educates Providers and Health Care Workers. Keeping the growing needs of healthcare in view because of the current pandemic – COVID, new Health care codes are being created and more providers and Health Care workers needed to be educated with those terminology. He continuously reviews and refine the clinical architecture to accommodate the current business requirements.

Below are some of the job duties performed by {name} at OPTUM

· Interacting with multiple teams understanding their business requirements for designing flexible and common component.

· Build Data Pipelines that process Claims which require multiple REST API calls and data aggregation from multiple sources.

· Heavily used Python and Spark for building multiple applications to process data.

· Validating the source file for Data Integrity and Data Quality by reading header and trailer information and column validations.

· Used Hive to do transformations, joins, filter and some pre-aggregations before storing the data onto HDFS.

· With Data Lake as a source, created an End-to-End pipeline with Kafka.

· Implemented two different pipelines with Kafka K-Streams one carrying the JSON formatted data whereas other carrying the Avro data.

· Worked on transforming the data using K-Streams.

· Implemented Kafka SSL on topics to stop unauthorized access to Kafka topics.

· Used Sqoop for importing and exporting data from Netezza, DB2, Oracle into HDFS and Hive.

· Develop code and perform unit testing, source code reviews and implement all the individual use cases for the project consistent with the approved design.

· Build a Spark Streaming Application to extract incremental data from Kafka topics and ingest them into HBASE.

· Identify technology stack that best suits client’s analytical platform and data ingestion layers.

{name} is uniquely qualified for the position of Sr. Big Data Engineer at client due to his educational background and his technical skills. Additionally, {name} has vast

knowledge and experience on the application as he is working on these applications for more than 3 years.

To summarize, {name} was the core team member in the team and is necessary for him to travel as his onsite presence is critical to collaborate, design, implement and deliver on the above-mentioned projects. It is necessary for {name} to travel as he cannot perform these tasks remotely by impacting productivity as well as team and product deliverables. Additionally, the team looks up to his technical expertise and guidance for most ongoing projects which becomes difficult due to the time difference.

Looking at the criticality and complexity of the enhancements, a person at client side is needed who is Performance engineering planning, strategy implementation and is aware of its process, who can provide solution to real time business issues with great responsibility.

In Order for {name} to efficiently perform his work, request you to grant National Interest Exception to Presidential Proclamation 10199 so that he can travel to United States and provide support towards Critical IT Infrastructure sector.
