Rock Music History
Crooner songs remain at the core of popular songs today. For example, Sam Smith, John Legend, and Adele are all considered to be modern crooners, though we refer to them as ballad singers today. [I've cut and paste a list obtained on a Google search. Feel free to choose one of the songs.]
Select a contemporary song (released after 2000) in the crooner-style. Write a 500-word post that compares and/or contrasts a contemporary song to a crooner song from 1945-1955. For the contemporary song, you can choose a song by the aforementioned artists or one of your choice. For the song from 1945-1955, you can choose one discussed in the book, or another song from the period.
Include the following elements in your comparison:
· Provide the artist name(s) and song titles.
· Provide the years released.
· Compare and/or contrast the lyrics. What themes are the same or different?
· Compare and/or contrast the artists and band. You can discuss their appearance, their singing style, the texture of their voices, and instrumentation of the band.
· Last, include links to both songs.
