1. Evolutionism was a common belief in the 19th century that organisms inherently improve themselves through progressive inherited change over time and increase in complexity through evolution.

Question 2
iscussion Forum 5
You will have an opportunity to explore the language diversity in another country for this discussion forum.
You will need to use the following website:
Unfortunately, the website that we use to study languages in this course has now decided to charge for their content! The website is https://www.ethnologue.com/. It is the premiere organization that studies language diversity around the world. Fortunately, wikipedia does have some valid information that you can use.
Please use the following sources to do this assignment:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linguistic_diversity_index
If you click on each country you will see the basic information you need for each country. It will tell you how many languages etc.
This is the only source you need to use for this assignment..
For this project, you need to pick a country from either Africa, Asia, Central America, or South America.
You will be writing about the language diversity in your country. Please note the number of languages in your post, the number of dead languages, and discuss the language diversity index score of your country. How language diverse is your country? Conclude with discussing what you think the pros and cons are of having a high language diversity score.
Reply to at least one classmate about their post. This is always fun!!

Singapore is a country out of Asia, it is known as the lion city or garden city. The Singapore government recognizes four official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil. Due to the Singapore's history, the symbolic national language is Malay. Thee is over 10 dead languages in Singapore. rank 45 and ILD is .748 is the language diversity index for Singapore. I think having a high language diversity score is a good thing so people know more about what others are saying when touring the country, a con would be not understanding what a tourist or someone who lived there had an emergency, you couldn't understand them.
