Week 2: Forensic Populations: Children and Juveniles

Task: Submit 1-2 pages of case study and relevant statutes for instructor review/approval. Not graded.

I. Case Study, Statutes and Local Laws (1-2 pg) a. Introduction of Case Study

b. Federal Statutes and Local Laws i. Detail specifics of statutes, including precedent cases ii. Describe how these laws/statues apply to the

social issue in your forensic social work case study.

Week 9: Cycles of Crime and Violence: Recidivism and Revictimization

To complete Final Project on time, it is suggested having III. Recommendations completed by Day 7 of Week 9 Task: Draft a 1 page paper of recommendations III. Recommendations

a. What can be advocated by individuals or communities? b. How can the law be changed, amended or rewritten? c. Recommendations for further research d. Who benefits from the law? e. Considerations for who law favors?

Task: Create a 1-slide presentation of case, statutes and analysis for sharing in class Discussion, including the following:

• Brief summary of the case • The statute(s) and/or federal law(s) related to the case • State law discussed • Final conclusion and recommendations directly related to promoting

social change

Week 10: Prevention

Final Project DUE • 6-page Paper
