Race and ethnicity are persistent features of societies which differentiates individuals based on their physical appearance and beliefs. People across the world are suffering under racial and ethnic differences which limits their opportunities in social, economic and political institutions (Bayor). In the United States, socioeconomic stratification exists which is the root cause of differences and inequalities racially and ethnically minor people are experiencing. People of different races live in different circumstances both social and personal which impacts their social position and intervention. Race is a strong discriminative factor in the United States which affects the position of minority races in educational institutions and workplaces. A movie which portrays inequality black Americans experience in white majority schools is the evidence of this claim. This movie says that in the era where people have access to the country’s most privileged institutions they lack equality and equal opportunities (Simien). In educational institutions, African-Americans fail to be recognized as brilliant students compared to white students. In workplaces, African-Americans and other minority races hold lower positions in organizations (Bayor). Despite their skills and expertise they fail to hold respectable positions and equal wages. These differences in treatment based on racial differences strengthen biases and stereotypes in society. Racial and ethnic differences also impact the health status of minorities in the United States. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the negative impact of race and ethnicity on different areas of minorities in the United States. By using literature review and analyzing existing research about the negative impact of race and ethnicity on lives of minority races in the United States the paper will postulate how race is a strong factor existing in the roots of American society and how to deal with it. Two resources used one is a movie and the other is a theoretical text which are connected because both are emphasizing on the existence of racial discrimination in the united states and minority races as victims of this discrimination which is affecting their social, economic and political participation in the country/
