The law enforcement professionals encounter problems when computer crime laboratories fail to provide the state of the art technology. One of the problems is that the evidence which collected can be interfered with and in some instances, the evidence will disappear. The disappearance of the evidence or being interfered with is as a result of the failure by the crime laboratory to provide the state of the art of technology when collecting this evidence.
The state of the art technology is meant to ensure that the evidence collected is protected such that it will not be interfered with and also it will not be deleted or removed. So the law enforcement agency is expected to follow the procedure provided which include switching off the device and if possible removing the battery thus ensuring that the electrical gadget is no used thus leading to deleting of the existing information or being deleted thus leading to the evidence which was available disappearing. In some instances, this procedure is not followed, and the crucial information which would have served as evidence disappears (Alharbi, Weber, Traore, University of Victoria (B.C.), & University of Victoria (B.C.), 2014).
The crime laboratory should ensure that the details which are needed to access the information which has been stored n the systems are available to the law enforcement agencies. But there are instances whereby they do not get the details thus denying them the access to the information which would have been used as evidence. This is a common problem thus making the issue of collecting the information from the systems to be difficult. It is a common problem which is encountered by the law enforcement agencies hence the need to ensure that the details which are necessary are made available when needed since it is the only way in which the information can be accessed.
