Physical Anthropology: Primatology
Proposal
Physical anthropology is the study of the origin of humans while primatology is the branch of anthropology that deals with primates other than humans, seeking to prove the similarities of primates and humans in the bid to explain the origin of man. Endocrinology is the study of hormonal behaviors. My project will be based on the endocrinology of primates which will help in the research of the behaviors of primates and how hormones affect them and find out if the data can be of great use to the human health department. Field endocrinology will be one of the methods employed during the research. Field endocrinology is observing primates within their natural habitat without disturbing or intruding their habitat. The second method that will be used is lab endocrinology where samples obtained from the primates will be tested in a lab. The research will be carried out at the Lincoln Park Zoo 2001 N. Clark St. Chicago, Il 60614.
