Dear Mrs. Catona:

I was very pleased to see the job description for the Finance Management Training Program. I would like to be considered for this position with your prestigious company.

I am currently a student at the University of California at Berkeley and will graduate in May. At that time, I will have a bachelor’s of science degree and would like to pursue a career in banking. I am studying in the Haas School of business and have taken many finance classes in order for successful completion of my degree.

I have extensive work experience for a medical office, where I was responsible for office billing, greeting customers, and stocking supplies. During summer, I converted the Microsoft Excel office system to QuickBooks for better financial management. Since then, billing accuracy has improved 25%.

Previously, I received customer service experience at Pao de Acucar Supermercado, where I also handled financial transactions as a cashier. And, even though I joined only recently, I am enjoying the Microfinance club.

As a native Brazilian, I speak fluent Portuguese and Spanish.

I hope to have opportunity to learn more about this position and tell you about my background.
