Marley Catona

Recruiting Officer

Bank on Me

555 New York Avenue

New York, NY 10022

Dear Ms. Catona:

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the Financial Management Training Program. I am excited about this position as it would be a natural next step from my previous financial experience. I see myself growing with a company into a leadership position, and Bank on Me seems like a good place to start.

My favorite class at Moraine Valley Community College was Computer Applications in Accounting. I enjoyed learning about different systems for accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, invoicing, job costing, payroll, budgeting, and reporting. Microsoft Excel was an integral part of the course. I did well in this course and, therefore, was selected by my professor to become a teaching assistant. In this role, I work with students during office hours and hold exam review sessions to explain course concepts and help with assignments in Excel. It has been rewarding to see students do well after they needed so much help.

My other favorite class was International Business, which explained how people do business differently throughout the world. I learned about cultural differences and the importance of adapting your products and marketing to diverse audiences.

This course illuminated my high school study abroad experience in Rome, Italy, which was one of the best experiences of my life. I lived with a family for three weeks and studied Italian and Business Management. Both gave me a good idea of the cultural differences between the United States and Italy, which is where my family originated.

For three years, while I was attending school, I was a property accountant for Lakewatch Apartments. I managed all accounts payable, was responsible for handling large sums of money, and reconciled accounts. This was a great experience for me, and I hope to apply what I’ve learned at Bank on Me.

My résumé detailing my work experience and other qualifications is attached. Please call me or e-mail me at the above number to schedule an interview. I would very much like to be a part of your incoming management training program.

Sincerely,

Marcus Benini
