Virtual Resource Portal User Guide

Industry Certifications Capella, in conjunction with Xvoucher, offers a portal to certification-related resources to help you achieve course competencies, complete this course successfully, and prepare to qualify for a corresponding certification exam voucher if you so choose. Depending on the course and certification, these resources include virtual labs and practice activities. Details are provided on specific activities to complete throughout the course. If you require the use of assistive technology or alternative communication methods to participate in these activities, please contact Disability Services to request accommodations.

Qualifying for an Exam Voucher In addition to academic credit, Capella provides an opportunity to earn an exam voucher to current learners who meet specific criteria. As a part of qualifying for an exam voucher, you are highly encouraged to complete all recommended labs and modules listed throughout this course. See the Campus IT Industry Certifications page for qualifying criteria details.

Accessing Virtual Resource Portal Resources Select the title of the Virtual Resource Portal activity. In this example, you would select [u01v1] Unit 1 Virtual Resource 1. The title will link you to resources to learn and practice the knowledge and skills related to the assigned certification. You will be logged in automatically to the portal.

Industry Certification Bundles For ease of access to specific information, all resources associated with a given industry certification are grouped into separate bundles. Open the desired bundle to access the corresponding resources.

Capella works with different vendors to provide the most relevant content for each industry certification through the Virtual Resource Portal. The content you are expected to access will be explained in the related activities in your courseroom.

Navigating the Virtual Resource Portal The following screen shows two different available options. If you have more than one option on your screen, check the course content to find out which one to choose.

1. Click the link containing the title of the certification for your course. In this example we will click CompTIA Network+ Certification. The content for the chosen certification appears on the left side of your screen.

2. Click the Plus sign next to the title to expand the available choices.

3. Click the name of the content you want to explore. In this example we will click Practice Labs. Note the date: that is the last date on which you will be able to access this content. Normally you will be given access for several months to a year from the date of the start of your Capella course.

4. Read the content on the right for more information. Note that this information changes based on what you have selected.

Note: Capella strongly suggests reading the custom user guides we have created for each vendor to make sure you understand how to navigate the screens and obtain the information you need.

Virtual Resource Portal Access Capella provides access to your industry certification materials once your account is activated, until the expiration date shown for the individual materials. To access the certification portal from outside the courseroom:

1. Visit http://www.xvoucher.com 2. Click Forgot password. 3. Reset your password.

You will be routed to your personal Virtual Resource Portal.
