On 16 Dec 2020, I visited Colorado for the very initial time as my first out-state trip far from Texas. I stay in Denver, one of the gorgeous towns of Colorado. Among the different stunning places of Colorado, I personally admired ‘Rocky Mountain National Park’ a lot. Rocky Mountain National Park is an American national park located approximately 76 mi (122 km) northwest of Denver International Airport in north-central Colorado, within the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Rocky Mountain National Park, established in 1915, is a living showcase of the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. It is one of the most popular national parks in the United States, greeting more than three million annual visitors with rugged postcard-perfect peaks, lakes, and trails. It introduced nearly 70 youth from low-income families to the park by providing them with free outings that combined recreation and education in mountain safety and ecology. Observing wildlife is one of the most popular activities in the Rockies. A drive through the park at dusk during the summer is sure to guarantee to the view of herds of elk and mule deer.

Rocky Mountain National Park is widely famous and becoming people’s choice of the visit because this Park is one of the highest national parks in the nation, with elevations from 7,860 feet to 14,259 feet. Sixty mountain peaks over 12,000 feet high result in world-renowned scenery. They are rich in nature’s beauty.

When I reached Rocky Mountain National Park, I was so surprised and excited by looking its nature’s beauty. As I am from the country ‘Nepal’ which is famous as the country of mountains and nature’s beauty, visiting Rocky Mountain National park reminds me of my country. Rocky Mountain National park is the home of beautiful rivers and lakes originated by the melting of snow from the mountains. Along with nature’s beauty, it is facilitating various exciting sports and activities to its visitors.

After arriving at Rocky Mountain National Park, the thing first I was wishing to do was snow sledding with my friends which comes true on the 3rd day of my arrival there. Along with snow sledding, there are many exciting sports that people were doing there. For example, Snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and so on.

Rocky Mountain National Park supports 3 ecosystems: montane, subalpine, and alpine tundra. Tundra makes up one-third of the park’s area. A great variety of plant life, more than 700 species, can be seen. As I visit Rocky Mountain National Park in winter, I got an opportunity to watch various of animals like elk, mule deer, moose, and other large mammals. Elk and mule deer are most active at dusk and dawn and are usually seen in meadow areas. As it has various ecosystems animal life includes bighorn, deer, mountain lions, bobcats, black bears, elk, moose, and a variety of birds are visible there.

In my journey of Rocky Mountain National park, I experienced the Emerald lake trail, walking through pine forest, past pristine alpine lakes including Nymph Lake and Dream Lakes, and be treated to beautiful views of rocky peaks including Flattop Mountain, Hallett Peak, and Glacier Gorge was the best experience I ever had. I felt like I was in heaven where everything possesses beauty and peace.

As I am inquisitive about photography, one of the reasons behind visiting Rocky Mountain National Park was to do photography. As a true classic, Bear Lake is a beautiful stop for visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and capturing the photo. Catch it on a calm day and the water looks like glass, making a perfect mirror reflection of the trees and mountain peaks that surround the lake. Sprague Lake is so beautiful at sunrise with the pink glow of the sun hitting the snow-capped peaks. Like this, there are many spots for photography including Alberta fall, Moraine Park, Gem lake, and so on.

Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the most stunning national parks of America. It is widely renowned for many things and thousands of people enjoy its beauty every year. Rocky mountain national Park is truly one of the most beautiful creations of the earth and everyone ought to get the privilege to visit it. From its breathtaking views to its rich ecosystem filled with unique wildlife and organisms. With the beauty of mountains, rivers, lakes, it looks like heaven created in the earth. Rocky Mountain National Park includes sixty mountain peaks over 12,000 feet high result in world-renowned scenery therefore, I suggest to everybody that they must visit this place at least once in their life.
