Select a designer or a specific design work and undertake a critical evaluation of the selected design/designer.

Your critical evaluation of the selected design/designer and its contributions to society must be based on academic theories and your analytical viewpoint. The application of the relevant academic theories and models should be a key component of your assignment. A key element to a successful submission will be your ability to construct a critical analysis and sustained argument, with insight using relevant theories and models.

You are expected to use appropriate academic literatures and secondary data to support your arguments. All images should be directly relevant to your text. Conclusions and recommendations to be included within the 3000 word count. Abstract, Appendices, References and Table of Contents do not contribute to the final word count.

Structure for Writing your Assignment,

  • Select a set of measures that can be applied to evaluate the specified design work or designer based on a literature review
  • Identification of some existing debates and discussions
  • A critical analysis of the designer or the work of design based on the selected measures and the identified existing debates and discussions.
  • Build a convincing argument by incorporating your viewpoints and supporting them with evidence.
