YIN-YANG AND HEGELIAN MODEL 1
Yin-Yang and Hegelian model
Step (1):
The Yin-Yang model of transformation and interaction try to explain the nature of things
that exists in the world. According to the Yin-Yang model, anything in the world consists of two
complementary and correlative but mutually opposing forces, which are yin and yang. Yin refers
to the negative force and passive force that exists in the same thing (Li, Worm, & Xie, 2018).
Research identifies that yin is what attributes to the bad things happening both in life and nature.
The Chinese utilize the yin concept to explain the reason why bad things sometimes happens to
some people and in some cases lead to death. Consequently, yang refers to the positive, strong
and active energy that occurs in anything, to someone or the universe. According to the Chinese
researchers yang gives a perfect explanation why good things happen in life and why some
people are good to others whether with money or without. Chinese philosophers explain that the
interaction between the two forces, yin and yang consists of fundamental, universal dynamic,
complementary and harmonious equilibrium (Li, Worm, & Xie, 2018).
The concept of universal illustrates that the concept of yang and yin occurs to everything
that is in the universe. Everything that is part of the universe must have aspects of the two forces
that affects its existence. The fundamental concept of the two forces is that the interaction with
yin and yang is the basic source of the pushing forces that initiate the process in almost
everything (Farjoun, 2019). Complementary concept implies that the yin and yang forces
interdepend on each other and supplement each other into one entity instead of functioning as
separate entities. Dynamic aspect in relation to the two forces illustrate that the two forces are
constantly transforming and changing in relationship to the environment. Harmonious

equilibrium of the concept demonstrates that the two forces pursue a balance during any given
interaction.
Hegel constructs the Hegelian model from the perspective of a progressive movement of
Mind or Spirit (Geist) towards full self-realization as self-conscious awareness. In this case, he
believes that the process of Mind is a dynamic and perpetual dialectical struggle and regard this
to a “three-step” movement from thesis to antithesis to synthesis. The construction in any given
thesis will generate an antithesis. The interaction of contradictions leads to the generation of
new contradictions. The integration of the two to preserve or incorporate what are reasonable and
valuable makes the Russian contradictions enter a new and deeper perspective and abandon those
old contradictions.
Step (2):
<1>The issue of immigration has attributed to various emotions amongst citizens,
politicians and economists in the United States. The different emotions and opinion that arise on
immigration is because of the fact that immigrates attribute either positive or the negative effect
to the economy of the United States (Farjoun, 2019). Over the last few years, the number of
immigrants entering the United States have increased until when the former president Trump
took over office. Immigrants play an essential role to the United States economy in that through
providing labor, earning a salary and paying taxes, they contribute to the growth of the economy.
The immigrants unlike the local are more flexible when it comes to the job market in that they
are not selective with the type of work.
Immigrants will work anywhere in the United States without refusing any assigned tasks
or duties. The local citizens in United States are selective with the work especially in regard to
the salary. The immigrants assist in the United States government with offering solutions to the

aging population. The positive side of the immigration to the United States represents the yang
concept, which stands for the positive force. Immigration also has the negative force, which is
the yin in this case (Li, Worm, & Xie, 2018). One of the negative effect of immigrants is that
native workers will earn low wages because of the increase in competition in the job market.
Consequently, the immigrants will attribute to the increased congestion on the roads and pressure
on public sectors such as education and healthcare.
<2>The idea that immigration attributes to increased pressure on public services such as
education, congestion on the roads and the healthcare system has some element of truth because
the more people increase in a country to less effective the social systems work. An increase in
the number of immigrants entering the United States automatically puts pressure on the
healthcare system because of the increase in patients that would require medical attention. Many
of the immigrants come from disadvantaged backgrounds hence the need to come to the United
States to seek a better life. Once in the country, the immigrants will live in the cheapest
neighborhood, which in most cases consists of ghettos and highly populated states that lack
proper housing. The inability to afford proper housing and proper dieting increases the likelihood
of immigrants becoming sick and seeking medical treatment in public healthcare facilities
(Canivez, 2019). The more immigrants enter the United States the more pressure on the
healthcare system. Consequently, the increased number of immigrants in the country will
increase congestion on the road as many of the immigrants will use the roads to access working
areas and hospitals.
The aspect of potential fall in the real wages for the native workers might not have factual
truth because of the fact that the majority of the immigrants that enter the United States provide
unskilled labor in the industries. The government has policies in place to ensure that the

immigrants have a limit on the type of employment and wage cap that companies need to pay
immigrants and native workers. Native workers will continue enjoying the normal salary from
companies and job categories as the immigrants will have to provide unskilled labor, which has a
different pay and job category different from the native employees.
Step (3):
Applying the Hegelian model especially with the focus on the sublation feature in order
to meet the adequacy condition on the issue of immigrants, is fair to enact measures that will
favor both the local citizens in United States and the immigrants entering the country. One of the
most vital strategy to help in finding the adequacy condition entails the enacting of tight
measures that will restrict the number of immigrants entering the United States (Canivez, 2019).
The United States government ought to have a maximum number of immigrants it can allow to
enter the country and each year. Restricting immigrants entering the country will allow the native
workers to have job opportunities as well as the immigrants. Subsequently, the immigrants
allowed in the country will only be capable of offering workforce labor to a certain level hence
the companies will still hire the native workers and pay them a reasonable wage. The
government ought to allow only immigrants that have qualification for a certain job category and
offer a visa in accordance with the job group.
Using the yin and yang interaction model the government ought to ensure that the citizens
in United States receive education on the importance of the immigrants in the economy. The
locals have no solution to the aging of the native citizens, which will affect the industries in the
coming years (Fang, 2012). The government ought to inform the native workers that the
immigrants also attribute to the increase in the economic growth hence have a right to access the
basic public service sector especially the healthcare facilities and education. The essence of

educating the society on the importance of the immigrants in the country is for the people to
understand that the yang side of the immigrant overshadows the yin side of immigrants entering
the country.
