How to obtain a Company’s 10-K from the SEC website
2. Click filings, then click search for company filings
a. Alternatively, if you hover your cursor over filings rather than click on it, you can select company filings search
3. Enter company name and select search
4. Click on the CIK of your chosen company
a. If there are several companies with the same name you can select your company based on their SIC description
5. In filings type, enter 10-K and click search
a. The most recent filings are listed first, so the first 10-K listed should be the most recent
b. Alternatively you can scroll through all reports until you find the most recent 10-K
6. Select the format in which you wish to view the 10-K (documents or interactive data)
a. If you click on documents, you then must select the document with the description FORM 10-K
To ensure the company meets the requirements to complete the SLAs:
7. If you selected interactive data: click financial statements, then Consolidated Balance Sheet. If you selected documents: click on the table of contents, then Financial Statements and Supplementary Data and scroll down to Consolidated Balance Sheet
a. Ensure the company you selected has Accounts Receivable, Inventory and Property, Plant and Equipment.
How to obtain industry averages
1. Go to www.reuters.com
2. In the upper right hand corner, enter your company’s name in the search box and press enter
3. Below the stock price information, click financials
4. Scroll down to locate the ratio you are looking for
a. Please note the company’s ratio is listed first, then the industry ratio. Please calculate your own ratio for the company as the ratios listed here for the company are based off of their most recent financials, which may be their quarterly financials. You are calculating ratios from their annual financials.
