After completing the reading for this module, I quickly identified the ethical transgression that I should think primarily about in my consulting practices. The transgression identified was detrimental to client staff (Bouwmeester, 2023). Being a behavioral consultant in a public school setting, ensuring the trust and transparency of the staff I am observing will need to be first and foremost. This will help to develop those strong relationships and ensure the techniques provided will be to the benefit of the clients, as well as the staff that will be implementing them. To maintain that I am unbiased and provide training to help the entire staff and not single out teachers. Maintaining this ethical transgression will help build rapport and ensure I do not fall into the big con of consulting transparency (World Review from the New Statesman, 2023).

Transparency was one big con identified in a podcast (World Review from the New Statesman, 2023). The lack of transparency could harm my work as a behavioral consultant. It will go against the idea of building solid foundational relationships with my clients and the staff and families they serve. One way to help transform the industry and ensure I do not develop ethical transgressions would be to be as straightforward as possible in the contract. As a behavioral consultant, my consultant contract should have a section to discuss the communication that will be implemented if I am hired as a consultant. This should include what information will be disclosed and to whom, how often it is being disclosed, and what method will be used to provide it (for example, email, newsletter, in-person meetings, etc.).
