SOP, Training, & Competency Assessment Project

Each of you will be given a package insert for a waived laboratory test. Our first project will include writing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), creating a Training Checklist and a Training Quiz, and developing the Competency Assessment for this laboratory test. I will be emailing you the link for the package insert. Please let me know if you cannot access the information and I will scan it and send it to you. We will be reviewing the elements of an SOP and training checklist and looking at examples of quizzes and competency assessments. Please bring your package insert to class on Monday January 14th and we will spend time getting started on the project. We will be following the example of the Technical Procedure uploaded on Moodle. We will talk about Training and Competency Assessment and I will be showing you examples of Training Checklists, Training Quizzes, and Competency Assessments that you can utilize for your project. The training quiz should have at least 5 multiple choice questions and the Competency Assessment should have at least three short answer questions that are different from the quiz.
