1) WATCH THE MOVIE, CITIZEN KANE The film is available on Kanopy/SWANK (Penn State libraries) and can be accessed via the course’s CANVAS page

2) READ THE ASSIGNED BACKGROUND/BEHIND-THE-SCENES/ANALYSIS ARTICLES ABOUT CITIZEN KANE

3) WRITE A SHORT PAPER (2 pages, 475-550 words) about how the added information/reading/extras impacted the film’s narrative form or how the film was experienced

In the paper, make sure that specific parts of the film and the readings are referenced and that broad generalizations are avoided.

It is important that the paper reveals that the student has: 1) watched the film in its entirety; 2) read the readings carefully, and 3) reflected on how their perspective(s) of the film/narrative was impacted by the added information. Mechanics: Double-spaced, 12 pt, Times New Roman font or similar. Cite all sources: (including the film and assigned readings) using APA/MLA/other style. Include a reference/works cited page. Please use ONE style consistently, and do not mix different citation styles. Please cite sources both, in-text and in a references/works cited page.
