This is an individual assignment
· Task A:
You must prepare a report on an existing resort in Oman or in the Middle East region
Your report must include the following:
· An introduction about the topic, its purpose and significance.
· An analysis of the resort property in terms of its ownership, management structure, location, accessibility, facilities and services.
· An analysis of the resort property in terms of strengths and weaknesses with supporting rationale.
· A detailed analysis of any two departments (one front and one back-of-the-house) in terms of operational aspects and functional policies used by these two departments.
· A discussion on how the resort can manage the issue of seasonality and its impact on revenues.
· General Instructions
1. You must avoid making too many generalized statements; rather you must identify unique insights.
2. Use the prescribed format: font – Arial or Calibri, font size 12 and 1.5 spacing; margins – left 1.25, top, bottom and right: 1.0
3. You are required to use academic references to support your work. (Minimum 10).
4. Harvard referencing must be used. Your report will not be marked if you failed to follow the Harvard in-text citation. Resubmission of assessment and the mark is capped at 40.
6. The use of unfair means in any form is unacceptable and will be dealt with strictly. You must read the sections on Academic Offenses in the OTC Undergraduate Student Handbook.
7. If required by the tutor, students must present their report in front of a committee.
8. The word limit does not include the title page, table of contents, abstract, tables, diagrams, references and appendices. 10 % higher or lower from the prescribed word limit is acceptable. However, you should note the following with regard to word count regulations.

· TASK B: PRESENTATION (40%)
Each student is required to present the research work to the class for a maximum of 15 minutes.
1. Your presentation slides must be ready by Week 10.
2. All students are required to present in Weeks 13 and 14
3. You are expected to present the main points from your written research paper in your presentation.
4. You may include any pictures/photos/maps that you think will help your presentation.
5. Your presentation must be in the form of a PowerPoint presentation.
6. Your presentation must include at least 10 slides.
7. Your presentation should include a title page, introduction, a main body, conclusion and reference list.
