Research Outline
Title: The role of Nellie McClung in the Famous Five and The Women Suffrage Movement.
Research Question:
How Nellie McClung fought for the rights of women (right to vote) in the period of the past time when the women were not independent to fulfil their dreams and their position in society was below men on the grounds of social, political and economic rights?
Thesis: To begin with my research point of view, Nellie McClung was the first women in the field of politics (first women judge in British Empire, became first female cabinet minister in Alberta). She was the first lady who collaborated with other four women and made the group of Famous Five who started working on the upliftment of the position of women in the past times. It was observed that in Women Suffrage Movement, the role and position of women was changed with the passage of time but in the past time women were provided with no fundamental rights which is the right of every citizen of a democratic country. Women were having no right to education, vote and so on. Moreover, women were facing a lot of problem at their work places where they used to do labor. Men were preferred over women due to their more agility, strength and muscle power. Nellie McClung with the group of other four women fought for the fundamental right of vote that should be the right of all the individuals of the democratic country. They successfully won the war against the society in which women were not respected as much as they deserve. Then after this women were also free to vote in the political grounds.
Canada in the past time being a multicultural and conservative country used to follow the wrong beliefs of British Empire that women are made up for doing household chores only. They do not have any right to vote or to study in schools like men.
Major Research Questions and discussions:
1. The Struggle of Nellie McClung- She collaborated with other four women and made a group of Famous Five to fight for the position of women in the past time.
1. What was done by Nellie McClung for attaining the position of Women in the past time?
2. How Nellie McClung considered the women in the domain of fundamental rights of political as well as social field?
3. How the women were affected due to the causes of the Women Suffrage Act? - (no right to education, no right to vote, no preference in the field of work.)
What was the situation of Women in past time when they were just meant to do household chores?
Findings:
In my perception, I have vividly observed that Nellie McClung played a very crucial role in the past time to uplift the position of women in the society where they faced numerous discriminations and were considered less than men. Women were only considered as a person meant to do household chores. If they work as a labor, then also they were discriminated there because at their workplace's men were preferred more than women due to their physical strength. Women were having no political, economic or social rights. Even they were not familiar with the fundamental rights, such as right of education, right to vote.
In this way, Nellie McClung tried to uplift the position of women in the past time when she observed the women are too much discriminated and facing inequality on the political, social and economic grounds.

Conclusion:
To recapitulate, I personally reckon that any step towards the upliftment of women in the older time was a huge matter of confidence. The thinking of Nellie McClung was so innovative that in the such period of inequality she stands for the women and fought for them bravely.
According to me, this topic is one of the topics that has soft corner in a true citizen who really value and respect the lives of women. Women have a very crucial role and image in the whole society but they are not respected as much as they deserve that.
It could be seen till date that women are still fighting for their fundamental rights. Women are always believed to be do household work which kills their dreams as when they are at younger age, they are taught that how to use knife for veggies. Instead, they should be sent to school to achieve higher education so that they can also fulfill their dreams of life. So, women should be free to achieve as men are free to study and achieve their goals in life. In my research, I have observed that women’s image in society was so poor as they were considered very low in front of men in all the fields whether being at work (labor) or at political or social grounds. Nellie McClung tried to fought for the position of women. She became successful in her work at a few points but it could not be denied that today also women are still fighting for their independence. Their life hasn’t changed till this date when the world is full of modernization. Women are still suffering for them.
