ΚΑΛΌ ΤΑΞΊΔΙ (KALÓ TAXÍDI): BON VOYAGE
The title of this lesson is an expression used to say goodbye in Greek, or farewell. We have voyaged, and we’ll continue to do so over the space of time, into the futures that were waiting for us in dreams. For this last lesson I give you to read a mythological poem, one written in Santa Ana just last year by Iuri Morales Lara.
CONVERSATIONS WITH WATER DURING AN ECLIPSE Gracias mama agua por la calamidad y la calma. Gracias Tonantzin, por siempre. Perdón por el odio, la avaricia, La ignorancia. Perdón desde adentro. From the place in the corner of my gut. Perdón from the grace and strength In my liver. In the frantic swim From the dark deepness of Your waters to the surface, I want to find your essence. Unveil our meeting place And explain the deep connection Where I can forgive me For not knowing what I know now. I drink the water. I count the colors. I meditate over the chakras. Y ella responde – “Limpia tu corazón en mi. Limpia tus aires con mis plantas. Tus caderas son my hierbas. Todo lo que tengo es para ti. Pero cuidalo. No me maltrates Y te seguire dando. Somos una. Tu y yo. Amame y te amas. Si no me amas, De todos modos yo te amo. Te amo tanto que soy la casa De la muerte y del nacimiento.

Luz y oscuridad. Entra a la noche Y te conoceras. Ayi – en el reflejo del pozo, Espejo y vientre – reposa.” Don’t worry if you don’t understand all of it. The parts that you understood are enough. It is a poem of reflection, and communion with eternity. Our class has explored these states of being, and these possibilities of reflection. That is what the humanities are, after all, a space to reflect. Please write only one page for this week’s essay response, and take the time to enjoy what is left of life’s possibilities.
