As you begin composing your descriptive essay, think of a camera zooming in on its subject. A close-up reveals more detail. Similarly, the narrower the focus of your description, the better it will be. Avoid summarizing the text.  You will be writing about a scene from Beowulf.  Use language that is vivid and descriptive – the reader should be able to visualize the scene.
