Bhagavad Gita - chapter 2 (attached)Mitchell BG chapter 2.pdf

For assignment #4, please cover the following points in your 1-2 page written response:

  • Consult the above readings to describe the Bhagavad Gita - when was it written? What is it about? What are three of its main teachings?
  • What is cultural appropriation? (Feel free to look up the term online.) How might it relate to modern-day practice of yoga? Consult above article on cultural appropriation, think about the videos we watched in class on 6/4, and/or draw examples from your own experience to respond to this question.
  • How might the Bhagavad Gita help bridge the gap between the ancient teachings of yoga and modern-day practice? For example, based on the above articles and the attached version of chapter two of the Bhagavad Gita, give a few examples of how the principles described might be applicable in our daily lives. Feel free to use examples from your own life.
