Writing a paragraph about art.

The purpose of this assignment is for you to undertake the analysis of an art object of your choosing. It may be a painting, sculpture, piece of music - indeed, anything that could be classified as "art" in some way. Your analysis should be an attempt to explain and/or interpret the piece to a reader who is looking to you for an explanation. Other than very briefly you do not need necessarily to engage in much description. This is an analytical exercise. Some of the readings we have done up to this point - as well as the discussions and presentations in class - give good pointers as to the way you should be approaching you piece of art. The paper is about explaining what you think the object means i.e., what does it symbolize, what is it trying to say, what does the artist want us to take from it? Your written response must be no less than 500 words.
