Many students who enroll at Walden University are intrigued by its commitment to positive social change. As a member of the Walden community, how do you see yourself as an advocate of that mission? In what ways are you already making a difference in the world?

By Day 7 of Week 2

In 250 words or less, write an original essay in response to the prompt above. To present your strongest writing skills, please ensure your essay:

  • Concerns the essay topic specified in the assignment prompt.
  • Appears in paragraphs with an introduction, a body section, and a conclusion.
  • Maintains academic integrity by demonstrating your original work.

If you need help as you draft and revise your essay, you can browse the Walden Writing Center’s resources at http://writingcenter.waldenu.edu. Please note, however, that this assignment is not eligible for the Writing Center’s paper review service.

Please do not write your name on your essay. Instead, save your document in accordance with the directions that follow.

Submission and Grading Information

To submit your completed Assignment for review and grading, do the following:

  • Important: Please do not write your name on your essay. Instead, save your Assignment using the naming convention “Assessment+Student ID number.(extension)” (for example, AssessmentA00111111.doc) as the name. Essays must be submitted in this format to ensure anonymous scoring.
  • Click the Assessment Rubric to review the Grading Criteria for the Assignment.
  • Click the Assignment link. You will also be able to “View Rubric” for grading criteria from this area.
  • Next, from the Attach File area, click on the Browse My Computer button. Find the document you saved as “Assessment+Student ID number.(extension)” and click Open.
  • If applicable: From the Plagiarism Tools area, click the checkbox for I agree to submit my paper(s) to the Global Reference Database.
  • Click on the Submit button to complete your submission.
