World Population Math Problem Assignment
Find the current annual growth rate of the world’s population. Write an exponential function showing what the world’s population will be in the year t if it continues growing exponentially.
Then look up what the population of the world was in 1970, and what the annual growth rate was then, and write an exponential function describing what the world’s population would be in the year t if that growth rate had continued.
Graph both functions and compare their graphs. Then draw a graph showing what you think the population of the world will be in the year t. Is the graph you drew the graph of an exponential function? Why or why not?
