a) Select points A and B so the construction costs are a minimum.

b) What is the minimum cost?

c) How long is the pipeline of minimum cost? Compare with the distance from P to Q.

2. Repeat problem 1 but the construction costs from P to A are $16 per mile, from A to B are

$24 per mile and from B to Q are $40 per mile.
