1Q. What theories best explain white-collar and corporate crime?

2Q. Do anomie and control theories explain collective criminal behavior as well as individual deviant behavior?

3Q. Is there a different psychological dynamic to corporate and white-collar crime than there is to deviance by individuals?

On page 23, Potter and Miller maintain, “The research shows clearly that crime is a way of life for those respectable citizens who form the ranks of white-collar [criminals]. It is so much a way of life that it would [ ] not be an overstatement to suggest that crime is the norm rather than the deviation among these high-status offenders.” If it is so pervasive as to constitute an “epidemic” (Potter and Miller, 31), is white-collar crime a deviation from the norm? What facts support your position?
