prtneesswdlyYour emergency department (ED) is typically overcrowded and busy. Data reveal that although the CMS requires that pneumonia patients receive an antibiotic within four hours of coming to the ED, these patients are receiving antibiotics between six and eight hours after arrival. As the administrator, what can you do? How can you analyze the problem? What variable would you examine? Which members of the staff would you call on to help analyze and improve the situation?
