For this week's discussion, construct a sample portfolio, then track and analyze its performance for the next 7 weeks. Use Yahoo Finance (http://finance.yahoo.com/) to construct the portfolio. (Registration is free.) Click “My Portfolios” and use the drop-down menu to choose “New Portfolios.” Follow instructions to construct the portfolio. You will create analysis reports on its performance each week.

Use $1,000,000 for your portfolio. Select the 10 stocks that you think have the most growth potential. Use the tools on this site to diversify your portfolio and either meet or have your total be under $1,000,000.

For the purchase price use the previous business day’s closing price. Every other week, you will report and analyze the portfolio’s performance.

Keep the composition of the portfolio as you have made your selection in the first week. This way you can track performance and stock analysis. Tell us about your portfolio composition, along with a brief explanation of the stocks you selected, and include at least two sources See syllabus for word length.
