This week you will have the choice of reading two of three selections: Hodgman’s “No Wonder They Call Me a Bitch” (it’s a satire…relax…), Bissell’s “Thirteen Ways to Look at a Shooter,” or Laska’s “Empire of Ice.”  All three fit under the heading of descriptive essay, but in very different ways.  Your task for this week’s discussion board will be to choose two of them, identify their theses, and explain (with specific evidence from the reading) why they are descriptive essays.  Remember that the thesis is not what the essay is about but, rather, the point that the essay is making about its topic.  Your initial post of approximately 300 words should be up by Wednesday at 11:59pm.
