I would research and analyze and then do it all again, maybe twice to determine if the the entry is indeed incorrect.  I would provide my manager with the  support to prove that the entry should be done another way.  If this recommendation is not received well, I would ask my manager to explain the entry to me.  If it is still not within compliance with accounting standards, I would not make the entry.  If the manager insists that this entry is the only solution, I probably would bounce the issue off of a few of my friends that are CPAs.  If there is no agreement with the manager's entry, I still would not make the entry.  Any manager, whether CPA or not, should realize the error.  If it is a deliberate attempt to deceive, I would not back down.  I live by the rule, "Ignorance does not make you innocent".  Hopefully, the manager will agree, if not, I would definitely look for another job.
