Week 1 assignment

For this assignment, identify and describe two communication "rules" that are present in your family of origin. You should explore how these "rules" have affected patterns of interaction and communication among your family members. Your paper should be a 1-2 page paper citing specific examples and providing detailed analysis incorporation reading and textbook material. If outside sources are used, proper citation of the source should be included. 

Examples of communication rules: 

 Do not talk with your mouth full. 

 Respect your elders. 

 Think about what you are going to say before you say it.  

 Do not yell.  

 No eye-rolling.  

 Address parents as “sir” or “ma’am.”
