Vital Response Needed

Hi Marsha,

Would you consider the performance evaluation a tool that could be useful when attempting to sustain change according to Kotter's model?  I propose this because when you reflect on the process of performance evaluation for a program under the quality improvement process, it is the evaluation phase that allows you to monitor progress, track trends and identify any deviations.  When a program change is implemented continuous monitoring is required to determine success.  As this is the case, the evaluation process also involves reporting outcomes to leaders and staff which aids in the process of sustainment.  The progress keeps the change at the forefront, which enhances the ability to maintain change.  Any thoughts?
