"The violence in Oedipus the King takes place offstage. Today's audiences are accustomed to seeing graphic violence. Do you think that a production of Oedipus the King would have a greater impact on the audience if the violence were graphically portrayed on stage? Would graphic violance have an impact on teh audience's understanding of the play's theme?
