Unit 6 Assignment

In a 3-5 page paper (not including the cover page or references) using APA formatting, interview someone who knew you when you were a preschool aged child or think of a child whom you know that is between 2 and 4.5 years old. You may interview the parent of a preschool child as well. Your paper should explain how and why this child fits with Brown’s stages of language development. Be sure to include the following in your paper:

• The approximate age of the child at each stage (please choose a pseudonym for the child)
• Examples of clauses, phrases, and negative form phrases for each of Brown’s stages 2 – 5 of language development
• Identification of what makes that phrase or clause fit in that stage
• Details of how the child’s culture and specific communicative activities influence language development at each stage
