Unit 5 Response Needed
Hi Marsha,
Your comments reminded me of one of the papers we had to write in a previous class - actually, I think it was another class I had with Dr Edwards as the instructor. We had to compare the US healthcare system with 2 other countries healthcare. One of the countries I studied, accepted practice is to pay nurses 'a little extra on the side' to get medications on time, though the patient or the family have to purchase the medication outside of the hospital. This is not viewed as unethical in that culture so your point about things being unethical for one person may not be unethical for another. So, considering this situation, is it unethical for someone to demand that another culture behave in a manner that a person considers ethical when that culture does not? Did I say that right?
